I love you
So I’ll watch you be with them
Pretending that you won’t sink
You’ll swim
But we both know they won’t just watch you drown
They’ll be the ones pulling you down
But I love you
So I’ll let you learn another lesson
I’ll never try to control you
Because I have patience
And I love you
So I do worry
And I question
Why do you let this happen?
I love how smart you are
Self aware
And forgiving
But why do you not use that wisdom
To make better decisions
I love you
So I know you love hard
But your boundaries are brittle walls
One touch from them and it’s bound to shatter
I love you
But do you believe you matter?
I do
more than you know
I love you and if you ever want to grab a hold
of my hand I promise my arms weak muscles will use all their might
To pull you up out of that water
You’ll struggle to breathe at first
But then you won’t
And if you then decide you don’t want to love me
And you want to soak
That’s okay because
I’ll still love you
Even if you let go
