Silent Storm
Anxiety, Depression, heartache,
The storm clouds of darkness and despair,
form raging inside of me.
Like demons refusing to flee,
Ripping my soul apart.
I 'm searching for the light in the dark.
Thoughts of you come racing,
piercing me as I fall to the ground
from your vengeful darts.
There's no escaping your memory,
You're in my mind.
We were like a fairytale;
The ending of a love story without the melody of wedding bells.
You and I are just another untold chapter in the vast tapestry of tales.
That was written in black and white,
Gathering layers of dust, it rests on the forgotten shelf.
And I am held captive to where Satan dwells.
There's no ray of light
So I bury my emotions,
I stand tall as I fight to thrive
It's a struggle to cope,
I can't have what is rightfully mine.
I can't take flight, I'm paralyzed.
Without you,
I was killed on a plain site.
Alone with vulnerability,
Slowly fading to die.
My heart was as good as gold,
Now, it's a tombstone.
While, others were whispering in your ear,
Their decisions about me influenced your own.
I'm frightened of what unfolds,
Spinning out of control,
Five years later,
I'm no longer waiting at the crossroads.
I'm numb to what makes my summer nights cruel.
Lord knows,
I've already paid my dues,
Wondering what else I am going to lose?
My dignity, my self-esteem , my self-worth
As others point their fingers, laughing and making me appear as a fool
They judge a book by it's cover;
they don't know what it's like to walk in my shoes.
There's a reason we crossed each other's path,
It all ended so fast.
Remembering your touch, your kiss,
That I could never resist.
Mesmerized by your arms of bliss.
that's what I miss.
I'll rise above this
Working on myself is on my priority list.
