There you are, so close.
With all my might I reach out to you,
But can only twitch a single finger.
With all my strength I call your name,
But can only muster one stifled breath.
Tears well up in the corners of my eyes.
Figures stand in the corners of the room.
One peeks over the footboard,
Grips the covers with its spider fingers,
Crawls toward with jagged motion.
Crushing weight lands on my chest.
A crooked smile with stinking breath,
Mocks me in my suffocation.
And there you are, so close,
Blissfully unaware of my silent screams.
