Screaming
There are times when I want to scream,
You yelling at me and being extraordinarily mean.
I don’t know why I’m so shocked and surprised,
You’ve done this for years and will do it until my demise.
There are times when I want to scream,
At the darkness within me, untouched by moonbeams.
I can’t understand why my life ended this way,
When others traveled the same road but turned out okay.
There are times when I want to scream,
Louder than ever before in my inner room.
Where shadows creep in and float in accord,
Against all that has been taught me, things I adore.
There are times when I want to scream,
In invisible visions enchanted mystical schemes.
All I’ve ever wanted was to be left alone,
There are those who berate me in my own home.
There are times when I want to scream,
In colors of red, blue, in black in dreams.
Those worlds that I see, those worlds that I seek,
Come to lure me from what I hold dear, things that I keep.
At the end of the day when everything is still,
There are times when I want to scream, times they're unreal.
But, alas, I’ll remain that sojourner that I’m meant to be,
And scream to myself, within my inner room allowing me to be me.
