Why I stopped liking people

“Do you really think you’re that good of a person or are you just scared? Afraid?”

Scared? I’m not scared.

Afraid? Afraid of what?

That I’ll lose what you gave me? That I’ll lose the feelings you gave me?

You hurt me.

Don’t turn this on me, don’t make it sound like I’m attached, or obsessed.

I’m simply hurt.

Give me closure and it’s the last thing you’ll give me.

Scared? Afraid?

You really think so little of me.

I’m not afraid.

Empowering. Feels like the character is standing up for being gaslit. Well written poem.
