Saboteur

A jaded "nonet" love poem

By Gina C.Published about a month ago 1 min read
Image created with Midjourney

You slip in through the front door like a

tempest cloud. Your phantom kiss is

listless ashes, blown astray.

Monsieur, you {{saboteur}} -

I sense her parfum

spray like rain… and

now our fire

fades to

grey.

Ugh, her perfume! They deserve to rot in hell. Loved your poem!

The wordplay in this is AMAZING! I love how whole of a story you tell in so few words. I am obsessed with the description of the lover's perfume being like rain putting out the flame of love. Perfect balance between creative description and pared back writing. I love this poem.

A phantom kiss of listless ashes leads into fire fades to gray. Nice job!
