Remedy

at Mercury Lounge // skipping Ryan Caraveo

By Kay HusnickPublished 3 months ago 1 min read

Summer heat, sticky sweet sweat

we sat in the park trying to force an appetite

do you remember like I do?

pre-concert diner sandwiches, watching spiders on the wall before the show

were they spiders?

my mind is with you

two years ago, kept warm by the memory despite the early April cold tonight

the line wraps around the venue in the opposite direction

you would have liked the guys in front of me now,

joined in to talk Peanut Butter Waffles vs Daisies and the choice of platform shoes

I can see us in the booth at Remedy Diner when I walk home alone before the headliner even made it to the stage

& I send my good-byes to your ghost
