Radio Flyer

poem

By Edwin RosengrenPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

we are all time travelers

ninety nine percent of the time

we are hurtling forward

downhill in a radio flyer

wagon

with a child's blanket

for a cape

flapping at our back

super hero style

faster

and we can hardly steer

faster still

as we try to keep it arrow straight

still faster and

it all dumps into the ditch

......

but as we lay there laughing

crazy with the thrill

lost in the rush

lying in the wish

for that moment of one per cent

in the past

...

waiting

to go again

waiting for our next turn

we find ourselves in our past

we get to a memory

of what made the thrill ...

standing in line

waiting for our number to

make it to the front of the line

again

About the Creator

Edwin Rosengren

I have been creating stories most of my life , but have never had a venue that I was comfortable with , which also had a significant audience . As a result most of my stories became amusement for myself only .

Here , I plan to change that .
