In the quiet shadows of the twilight hour,
Where dreams once bloomed like a fragrant flower,
There lingers now a wistful sigh,
For a love unreturned, as time drifts by.
I gave my heart, with hope so bright,
Believing in a love that felt so right,
Yet in your eyes, no spark did show,
A painful truth I’ve come to
Your laughter, a melody I yearned to hear,
Now echoes like a distant tear,
For every smile that lit your face,
Left my heart
The words I spoke, so tender, kind,
Fell silent in the corridors of your mind,
No warmth, no glance, no tender touch,
Could make you see I loved
In dreams, I wander where we might have been,
In a world where love was seen,
But morning breaks with stark reveal,
A love that only one could feel.
Though my heart aches with this silent pain,
And tears fall softly, like summer rain,
I cherish the moments, brief and true,
For they are all I have of you.
In time, this wound may fade and heal,
Yet the scar remains, a truth to feel,
For unrequited love, though bittersweet,
Teaches the heart where shadows meet.
So I release you, with gentle grace,
Though memories linger, they leave no trace,
Of the love I held, so deep, so true,
A silent echo, a goodbye to you.
