Prayers in the wind

A tribute to Lake Como

By Vadim KaganPublished 11 months ago 1 min read

The cool breeze of the blue mountains

Stirs the gentle waters

And the waves, as if competing,

Dance their round dances,

From nowhere into nothingness

They run in a green procession,

Forever indivisible waters;

That's how it is, my friend, with you and me,

Driven by the winds of fate,

We go forward, hand in hand,

Switching from cognac to bread as we travel,

Fighting off boredom,

We wander wherever our eyes lead us.

Having walked half our journey,

There is no road back anymore,

The cool breeze of the blue mountains

Always blows at our backs,

Erasing our tracks forever.
