Penelope Israel
An Acrostic Sonnet
Princess since birth not very far from Greece
Enveloped in leaves that drifted for her
Negating autumn's mastery for peace
Entertaining the way we are and were
Living on the edge of unhappiness
Orbiting her Self with normal futures
Purity purified for happiness
Engendered with a number of sutures
Invigorating her stance with loving
Suspending the world for love at first sight
Rooting her needs in an inner coving
Anticipating the present affright
Eager to love him, she waited for years
Lingering, she lost count of her sweet tears
-----
Dedicated to my new and final love.
