Fall. In front of the sea. I open the windows wide
Over the silent garden, and the waters I look, absorbed.
Autumn... Swirling, the yellow leaves
Roll, fall. Widowhood, old age, discomfort...
Why, fair ship, in the starlight,
You visited this uninhabited and dead sea,
If then, when the wind came, you opened your sails to the wind,
If soon, when the light came, you left the port?
The water sang. Surrounded, with kisses, your flanks
The foam, dissolved into laughter and white flakes...
But you came with the night, and you fled with the sun!
And I look at the deserted sky, and I see the sad ocean,
And I contemplate the place where you disappeared,
Bathed in the rising glow of the afterglow...
