I’ve tried going numb
Always feeling like I’m under someone’s thumb
When I do what they want I’m their hero
When I’m anything else I’m scum
No matter where I am I haven’t changed
Refusing to succumb
To the pressure
Always moving on
A slick stone rolling onward
Down the hill is where I belong
