I Wonder How This Came to Be

Land once coated in green, now not quite as pristine.

Waters once so clean, now lack hygiene.

Animals once free, now in captivity.

Once those who rule discover me surly my life won't be pain free.

Hard stonelike ground everywhere, lots of polluted air.

I wonder how this came to be.

My kind all went extinct, who rules now homo sapiens that think.

They think little of the planet, although they are the ones who damned it.

They think little of planet Earth, or the planets worth.

This Earth is nothing like my former home, why am I here all alone?

Oh this is really a heartfelt poem. As humans we are very irresponsible and thanks for this great reminder!
