I have just seen the Doctor, his name is Dr. Tel. I have just the Doctor who says I’m doing well.

Mom and Dad are happy that I am doing fine, but my brother laughs and giggles. He whispers to my sister, “This is his first time.”

My mother looks a little worried, my big sister looks a little scared.

My father says don’t worry child, there is nothing here to fear.

Doctor Tel said I was doing fine! He said I was doing well! By the way, my family is acting, I really could not tell!

My dad asks my mom to leave, my brother and sister too. I think that I should go with them, but my father says, “Oh no my child, not you.”

“I will not let anyone hurt you, you know that is plain to see, but the doctor needs to get some blood and it cannot come from me.”

“I’m going to tell you what’s going on, I am going to make this clear.”

“I do not want to give him my blood,” I say with my eyes beginning to tear.

Knock, knock on the door, then it opens and there stands a man.

He comes in with a great big smile and says, “Hi, my name is Dan.” I am what is called a phlebotomist, but you can call me a Tech of S.P.A.M

I look at my dad, I am ready to run! He gives a comforting smile and says, “It’s alright my son.”

Dan and Dad explain what’s going on, and then Dan places a big blue rubber band around my arm.

My Dad talks to me about our day, Dan says it’s okay to turn away.

I feel a pinch like a little bug bite. A few seconds later Dan says, “We are all done, alright.”

I looked at dad and then to Dan, “Was that all there was?”

Dan says, “Yep, you are the man.”

That did not hurt like I thought it would, my mother, brother, and sister well they could not have understood.

Dan the Tech of S.P.A.M is really quite good!

He gave me a sucker and a big high five.

Then in came my brother and he asked are you still alive?

I say with a smile, quite alive thanks to my calm dad and the S.P.A.M . Tech Dan.
