Time
We kill it
Time
We kill it
We waste it
Then we regret it
-------
An all-encompassing entity
That rips at our very core
Then satisfies with sweet memories
A blaze of brilliant light
And a ball of deepest darkness
-------
Nostalgia for those days of old
Hits hard the mind
And prices the soul
Like an indefinable high
-------
The playing of a song
From those old, school days
Meeting an acquaintance after decades
It all rushes back like floodwaters
-------
There may be a longing
To regain what cannot be regained
And a sadness by its side
But take comfort in recalling
The joy that was once your time
