Nice Knowin' Ya by Lolly Vieira
I wrote this poem/song while shit faced drunk in a park after a break up.
knew that we were falling fast
I knew last time wouldn’t be the last time I disappointed you
it’s better that we’re through
so I guess I’ll medicate myself
heavily sedate until I forget how to be sad
lose track of all the time that’s passed
and I can’t seem to break this cycle that I’m in
and you can’t seem to take the things I do that wear you thin
not sure how we got here, but I’ll surely miss you, my dear
I guess that it was all okay that you made me feel this way
‘cause it wasn’t really you
(I’ve got my own issues)
I’m sorry I couldn’t say shit, in person I’m not eloquent
I say things that I don’t mean
and sometimes I even scream
and I can’t seem to break this cycle that I’m in
and you can’t seem to take the things I do that wear you thin
not sure how we got here, but I’ll surely miss you, my dear
I kind of wish that you were here
