Nebraska, “It’s not for everyone.” The phrase seems to be unfitting for such a state as ours. Imagine the expression on a bumper sticker. Not exactly flattering, but it gets the point across. The word might capture more than meets the eye, from the rolling hills to the flat prairie along the Platte River. The landscape can be deceiving…the further you travel west on 1–80, the more hills you see. The Eastern part of the state is flatter like a pancake. The weather within the state is merciless. The howling winds, the debilitating cold, and the intense heat make it unpleasant. However, the pleasant people and the slow down pace make the surroundings more doable.
