My Old Friend Anxiety
~ My Old Friend Anxiety ~
~
In a bit of a mood today
Not sure where it will lead
Bittersweet nostalgia
As I recall this anxiety bloom
Enchanted by familiarity
I forget how far it pulls me
To the brink I plunder
Are there thorns in these roses?
Will there be any light this time
At the end of this tunnel?
Am I free falling or climbing?
Is there any sense in knowing?
Will I make it back to the beginning?
Or is the end of the world again?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This was written for a prompt on anxiety, calling for a poem to ask six questions.
