My Blue Heaven

Holy, Holy

My Blue Heaven

Love is the navy of dusk,

not the heat of lust,

or high noon; no.

It’s the cool hue

of sky upon sea.

Vast.

Deep.

A risk.

Rare as a blue moon

that will rise and fall,

wax and wane,

dead and born anew;

for each life must end.

Love can’t stay.

Yet, it’s what I live for.

Lord,

Let me have that blue.

Let me hold it dear,

and let it go.

Amen.

I originally wrote this for the Short and Sweet Challenge, but also as a prayer. I stay blessed.

Almost as if you could bite into crystal: a beautiful prayer. Maybe that doesn't make sense and I'm too stoned to comment, but congrats belatedly!

This was really beautiful, relatable and insightful Naomi! I like the perspective you chose and the way you presented how love is so much more than the acts we commit in the heat of the moment! I can see why this was a Top Story, your badge is well earned here! 🩵
