my

(land)

i found a land

that knew me

when i did not

know it

but the stones

engraved in my heart

a ballad as old

as time

that sings me to

sleep

when i am far

from home.

i ran on its mountains

barefoot

wind kissed

star struck -

i might have

danced.

i woke up

in love

with the emptiness

around me

that i will fill

with stillness

and the fires

i light.

the land taught me

that i belong

just because i am

it embraces the corners

of my soul

that i have buried

because they are too

much to feel.

like stars in the desert

my land lights

me up

to shine

with my

luminaries.

there is no

other land

for me

but my land.
