Murder Verse.

Blood smeared across the kitchen floor

DNA.

Water running into the sink, down the drain

Check garbage disposal.

A torn dress thrown in the corner, buttons missing

Evidence.

A fedora carelessly tossed on the kitchen table

Was the killer a hat man, question mark.

Pick up hat find revolver, empty snub nose

Murder weapon, question mark.

Follow the blood trail into the living room

The scene expands.

Step around broken furniture, shattered lamp

Signs of a struggle.

Find shell casings scattered across the carpet

Ballistics.

Red wine spilled into the sofa

Drunken rage, another question mark.

Follow blood to a hallway

Find victim.

45 year old white male

Deceased.

Upstairs a baby cries

Follow sound, cries get louder.

Find both baby and mother in empty room

Trauma.

The invest begins

Our day starts when yours ends.
