Moonlit Temptation

The struggle of freewill

By Tony BacaPublished about a year ago Updated about a year ago 1 min read

In the shadows of the night

With evil at the reins

A melody of silence taunts

In seek of your remains

.

As he stalks with fiery breath

In search of innocence

A master of deception

With moral pestilence

.

Slithering upon my flesh

In the shadows he will loom

As the tides rise and fall

I’m defenseless to the moon

.

His trickery and temptation

slips in for attack

I ask him for forgiveness

But the Devil whispers back

.

My heart beats rapidly

To a wicked tune

As the air around me chills

His thirst is to consume

.

In the depths of this abyss

I struggle to seek the light

A glimmer of direction which

I rise to stand and fight

.

For I refuse to be consumed

I rise with all my might

I'll find a way to conquer it

And banish his delight

.

Created in his likeness

The darkness cannot bend

Emerging with the love and power

My soul will never end.
