Last Summer

LOVE LETTER

Invited to a work birthday party

Filled with lots of dancing and social fun

Alcohol consuming with music dumb

Loud enough for neighbors to hear it run

Somehow, I see you in the distance shine

A glow so perfect to match all of mine

You walk over, our energies match

Try to keep space but all see us attached

And so we interact with boundaries

I set them because you hurt me badly

I’m exposed, my heart open wide, all sees

In fairness, I invited it to me

We talk, I let my love engulf you now

The night ended, us in arms, in car, bound.
