Love Can Grow Again

At any stage

By Shanon Marie Clare Angermeyer NormanPublished about a month ago 1 min read

Love can grow again

This morning I had to transfer an herb plant

because it had outgrown the small location where it grew.

The roots were strong and the plant was stubborn,

but it finally let go and let me repot as if it knew

that my intention was to give it a better space,

a better place where it can continue to grow.

Sometimes we have to move somewhere else

to be ourselves and do what we best know.

I mention this herb plant as I think about love ---

wondering if there is any hope as I age.

Knowing I've been in love before, yet not enough,

because I still want more even at this stage.

The man I think about may be nine years younger,

but he's old enough to share the same thoughts.

Perhaps perfect matches can occur at any age

if true love is what is being sought.

Honesty is so refreshing now, something like fresh air.

Like the herb plant, I replant and grow my love with care.
