With love lost forever in the then,

when six feet of dirt marks the now,

the we mourns infinity.

And I can’t help wonder

how so it can be

I feel so me,

so alive

without

you.

Well-wrought! Gotta say, Cathy, when I first encountered your work here, it was good, but every time I read something new of yours, I find myself more impressed with the development of your narrative voice and style. There's depths of wisdom in your work, from your descriptions of your family, to your wistful insights, to your sense of humor. I've been here since 2021, and I've really enjoyed watching so many people develop. Do we develop the written word or does it develop us? One thing is certain: a symbiotic harmony is achieved.

Ohm this is beautifully sad. From a purely technical side, I love the play with words like then/now, we/I, you/me. What an awesome entry this is, buddy! Great work.

Well, this sets the bar really high. I might as well start over, lol. Seriously though, it perfectly describes the imperfections of the relationship and the want/need to break free.
