The crisp morning air brings no delight,
Dew-kissed windows reflect the dawn’s light,
Exhumed from dreams of sorrows and pain,
Isolation’s my link in the chain.
*
Farewell, the new age, greetings dark stage,
These days of disease will turn a new page,
Farewell, bright star, the world could have been,
The world we once knew remains to be seen...
*
Children fear monsters in fairytales,
We all grow up, yet fear still prevails,
Clinging to words the scientists speak,
Vaccines expose the poor and the weak.
*
Those stubborn few, whose knees never bend,
Will suffer the wrath of Him at day’s end,
Those who walk tall and refuse to be small,
Won’t harken the joy of heaven’s soft call…
*
Isolation’s our link in the chain
Stay home, stay safe, for your sake, stay sane!
Beware of the curse, of words without works,
Honor the reasons you weathered the worst.
