Leaving Tracks?
Wings take you far, but won't make a mark
Desolate the page before me lies,
Its wintry sheen not yet by print disturbed.
Silently, its lack my lack implies;
Through emptiness its blank reproach is heard.
Raucously, meanwhile, a winged thought flies
Around my head -- then two, and then a herd,
Calling wildly, darting through the skies
To realms remembered, visioned, known, absurd ...
I try to trace their captivating cries
Onto the page, but find the lines obscured.
Nothingness replies without a word.

This is hands down the best poem I reads for the Acrostic challenge. I never did get inspired to write one for this and I am just in awe at your talent. Nice to meet you! I'm a new subscriber. 😉
Nothingness replies without a word. I loved that line so much!
Whelmed with the abundance of possibilities which mean nothing to us & inspire little more than a heavy sigh.
a fine rhythm and rhyme here.
Oh I loved the rhyme in this one!! So skillfully crafted. And the last line was just perfect. The whole thing resonated with me. Loved it :)
So true and so beautifully said. The rhyme scheme is so lovely, creates a great pace. I read it twice, first for the rhythm and then for the meaning. What a melancholic, yet peaceful, meditation on writer’s block, or perhaps just the beginning of a story. Either way, I have felt these thoughts. Great interpretation of the acrostic challenge! ❤️
