Lake Vättern

Tell my family, don’t come looking for me.

By Valentine VampirePublished 2 months ago 2 min read

On my way up to the Swiss alps i took a detour off the beaten path

to find myself, and be one with who made me

a naive sweetness in me, i've never been one to see the evil first

stranger, a woman asking if she could chat and get a bite to eat

An old log, i offered her the seat.

We laughed and drank wine, then she left without saying goodbye

i thought i was alone, the night was so cold, couldn’t be another soul.

i settled in my tent and let the fire roar

I hope they find me when my body washes up to shore….

——

A sudden snap of a nearby branch, and just like that, my body was no longer mine

grab her legs, tie her ankles to her waist

Cold Lighter fluid, makes my body burn

Burlap sack,

what a pretty face to cover.

they left me for a while

My body charred and my brain muddled

They laughed and cut up, even drank what wine i had left.

They are back with there shovels and stakes,

lost interest and threw me in the lake

——

lake Vättern oh lake Vättern

My body lies with you, my soul spins in the rings of Saturn

lake Vättern oh lake Vättern

Contaminated with my blood and my missing parts

Lake Vättern oh Lake Vättern

Have i become yet another drunken tavern tale, fading into vapor through a gentle exhale

——

The stranger and her two male accomplices

predator and prey. Little do they know the kill count of their grand game.

Pictures posted on tree leaves, that the local kids in town will go tear down

her family knows she isn’t coming home anymore

her sister will shed tears that will drown her and take her life

They found dad hanging down from the closet door

mother and wife will have sleepless nights, then join them soon after

Did you have fun?

Did you have fun?

——

Lake Vättern oh Lake Vättern

My body lies with you, my soul spins in the rings of Saturn

Lake Vättern oh Lake Vättern

With my beauty restricted to the pattern of what’s left of my teeth

lake Vättern oh lake Vättern

Have i become yet another drunken tavern tale, fading into vapor through a gentle exhale

——

now that I’m not here anymore, that doesn’t stop me from crying

thinking about my family and how they’ll never find me

good lord help me be at peace with the things I can’t change

Please, I don’t want them to look for me

Just promise you’ll keep them safe,

keep them safe from me.

——

Lake Vättern oh Lake Vättern

my body lies with you, but my soul spins in the rings of Saturn

Lake Vättern oh Lake Vättern

Did i find what i was looking for?

Lake Vättern oh Lake Vättern

Have i become yet another drunken tavern tale, fading into vapor through a gentle exhale

did you find what you were looking for?

oh,I know i have

did i find what i was looking for?

oh i know i have

Oh i know i have
