Innocence Beguiled

Precious Moments

By Cindy CalderPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

The lull of the summer moon lingers in the still of night

As we play in the puddles and vigor of our youth,

‘Tis but a wondrous thing to behold such a sight

Of innocence beguiled, wrapped in a thin veil of truth.

We ever spin and dance to our own mystical song

As the chirp of crickets sounds in the tall, green grasses

Musing of summers full of beauty and fragrances strong

With lightening bugs flitting about as time slowly passes.

We lace together the remnants of our precious moments spent

With loved ones and friends amid the celebrations of this life,

Knowing without a doubt precisely for what we are meant,

Reaching forward through the sands of time with all our might.

Oh, but to relive those wondrous summers of our youthful years

When the sun was bright with no knowledge of worldly fears.
