Silver etches her silhouette
On my balcony
As she looks up at
The stars, gold hair glows
A halo around
Her face, lovely, full
Of serenity.
Poetry proves
A pale plagiarism
To her stunning glory.
She smiles at me,
Eyes sparkling,
And I think of
That night we first
Kissed, the moon a
Silent witness.
I didn't know, but
My whole world shifted
Then, so subtle but
Oh…
I had no idea
The changes she
Would instill in me,
Her lips, gentle,
Urging into a
Life I could
Only imagine,
Full of magic and
Wonder and love
Beyond my wildest dreams.
Color returned to
My monochrome,
Light filtering into the
Shadows I thought
Were all I deserved.
I touch my lips
To her smooth, warm
Shoulder, soft.
Above us,
Big Dipper points to
North Star,
But I've already found
My direction, here
In my arms, finally
I know where I'm going,
I know where I want to be,
I know where I belong.
