If love were enough
I wouldn't have to say goodbye
If love were enough
I wouldn't be sat here writing my reasons why
If love were enough
I'd dance through fields under the moonlit sky
If love were enough
We'd weather storms without a sigh
If love were enough
I wouldn't have to hide the tears I cry
If love were enough
But alas, reality's harsh decree
Brings forth the bitter truth to see
That love, though strong, is not all we need
To mend the wounds or set us free
So here I am, pen in hand, heart heavy
Trying to grasp why love alone is not plenty
For sometimes, love alone cannot withstand
The trials of life or the shifting sand
Yet still, in this moment, I hold on tight
To the memories of us, in the dimming light
Hoping against hope, as I bid goodbye
That someday, somehow, love will be enough to defy.
