Right there, idling outside by my window,
a spiderweb, frozen in the depths of winter
the so very cold air waving it, up, and down. Hypnotic-
Snow flakes and wind chimes, sparkling in my eyes
onlooking the absurd, meaningless spectacle of Nature's grace
_
Witness to it, this abstract field of silk, this fabric stuck in space,
vestige of a deadlier, warmer time, its empty threads once mortal threat.
Yet now, unending months later, there it still is, without a doubt.
Reality keeps track of this forgotten thing, and here I am to witness it.
_
How utterly strange and enigmatic is our world,
master of all times and things; the most sacred and beloved temple
none the more important than this silly frozen cobweb,
both, there. Both, undeniable, yet temporary,
until inevitably a stronger gust of frozen air tears it from there,
to transform it again and again,
maelstrom of existance.
