I Write for the Small Soul

I write for you...

Why do I write?

No, I am not always depressed.

No, I am not always in pain.

No, I am not trying to change the world.

I write for the small soul.

Sitting in their room,

crying their heart out,

letting their emotions soak their face

as they wonder what's wrong with them.

I write for the small soul

with a beautifully crafted mask

with an equally beautiful smile carved onto it,

to hide the scars on their mind.

I write for the small soul

who believes

they're not good enough.

I write for the small soul

who believes

they're worthless.

I write for the small soul

who believes

they're alone.

Small soul...

You're not alone.

I've been that small soul,

I still am in many ways.

I write for you,

small soul,

to tell you

You're not as small as you think.
