I sit and wait, my heart in disarray.
The minutes tick, the hours crawl by,
My longing for him, like a stormy sky.
His absence weighs heavy on my heart,
A void that gnaws, a pain that starts.
I've tried to fill it with other things,
But nothing stirs, no solace brings.
The days blend together, all the same,
A never-ending cycle of waiting and shame.
I'm tired of waiting, tired of the pain,
Tired of hoping, tired of the strain.
But still I wait, my heart held tight,
For the hope of him, the light of his sight.
For in his presence, all is made right,
And my weary soul takes flight.
So I'll sit here, in this twilight space,
And wait for him, with a heavy heart and a trace.
Of the love we share, the love we've made,
And the hope that one day, he'll be staying.
