I Looked into the Eye of God

An Examination of Man's Insignificance in the Universe

By Fred BobbittPublished 6 years ago 1 min read

I looked into the eye of God,

And there I saw a tear

Big enough to flood the Earth

And all the evil here.

Terrified beyond belief,

I had to turn away.

I fell down hard upon my knees

And bowed my head to pray.

I said, "Dear Lord, it's not your fault.

I know you did your best.

You gave men minds to seek your will.

We didn't pass the test."

Then I rose and looked again

Into that wondrous eye,

And I knew that God had heard me

Because He didn't cry.
