I knew what you were when I met you,
a liar, a cheat, a scoundrel, a thief,
who stole my heart.
The most valuable thing I own, it’s been taken and I let you,
such a fool I’ve been, I wanted to believe you, that maybe it was worth something, anything,
I can’t believe I let you.
You still have it, the most valuable thing I owned, even though I know that you’ll continue to break it, crush it,
because I don’t know how to take it back.
I’m lost in hope that is false, that maybe? Just maybe,
it can be repaired, but it’s more that I’m scared - to let go.
But I knew what you were when I met you,
a liar, a cheat, a scoundrel, a thief,
who stole my heart,
the most valuable thing I own, and now I want to win it, take it back from you,
if only I knew how to.
