I am the last warden

At the end of the world

By Emily McGuffPublished about a month ago 1 min read

Life is a rotting rope

Shriveling, unraveling

Coming apart at every turn

People are dangling, living

Screaming, Laughing

Yet unaware of the Pending Death

I AM THE LAST WARDEN

AT THE END OF THE WORLD

THE GATES ARE WEAK

BUT I AM STRONG

I AM THE LAST WARDEN

HERE TO JUDGE YOUR WRONGS

Hold tight, the wind whispers,

Tauntingly, giggling

The humans obey cheerfully

Knuckles white with industry

Squeezing blisters form

But they relish this imitation Life

I AM THE LAST WARDEN

AT THE END OF THE WORLD

Swallow Deep and Swallow Fire

Forget what you can

While you can
