"Hearts get holes as we age
Pieces of us get lost along the way
Homes change
Loss happens
In times of loss and loneliness
Reflections often ask
"Did you do enough?"
"Where you all that you could be?"
The answers hurt us all
No matter someone's strengths
We will always doubt ourselves
Wishing we were more
Even at my weakest
When hurt and overwhelmed
I pray for strength I do not have
With patience to return
The pieces left behind
Take root and grow fruit
Our most important effort
Is to nourish those around
