He Bought Himself a Gun -Sonnet 183

An angry kid bought himself a rifle.

A weapon made just for killing people.

No human death should e’er be a trifle,

Pulled the trigger, unleashing all his evil.

His weapon, it sprayed bullets as if water.

The blood, spattered up from floor to ceiling.

Nineteen children, shredded in the slaughter,

For the parents, ne’er there shall be healing.

Two teachers died, shields for the young babies.

Two women, souls and bodies ripped away.

So brave, they died, and let us now say please,

“These are the bravest women of the day.”

An angry man, he bought himself a gun.

To kill children, each and every one.
