The sharp pang of memory

The quick intake of breath

The gasping for air

The blurriness of tears

The whirlwind of the mind

The weight of guilt

The feeling of emptiness

The desperation for control

~

The fight to focus

The guilt of distraction

The attempt to engage

The apathy of feeling

The fatigue of failing

~

The comfort of the pillow

The blanket of the dark

The fright of the night

The echoes of silence

~

The dread of solitude

The longing for solitude

The cries of pain

The clutch of numbness

~

The abandoning of hope

The need to live

The guilt of living

The fear of living

~

Grief

The state between
