Garden Gnome

A free verse poem about one of my best friends.

She twirls through the rainbow garden

with a charm that disguises her size.

A diminutive sprite among the blossoms

her laughter as fragile as an angel’s wings.

Her eyes hold the sagacity

of a thousand years passed.

Her soul, a fountain of kindness

overflowing with admiration for all living things.

She waltzes with the breeze

her joy, so pure and infectious.

A lady as small as a garden gnome

yet her spirit flies like an airplane in the sky.

In her presence, the world is shining bright

the colours more chromatic, the air fresher and cleaner.

For she is an instrument of the universe

a little wonder, a present to the planet.

Liking the positivity here, “Her soul, a fountain of kindness overflowing with admiration for all living things. She waltzes with the breeze her joy, so pure and infectious.” Terrific job Talia! 😊👏
