Fractured Families

The statistics don't lie.

By Rowan Finley Published 5 years ago 1 min read

knots were tied and then undone

minds were fixed and then unfixed

hearts were glad and then un-glad

vows were spoken and the taken back

families were started and then smashed

memories were made and then forgotten

life was spent and then life was lost

pictures were taken and then ripped apart

food was tasted together and then thrown up

dreams were dreamt and then they faded

time was had and then it meant nothing

gifts were given and then they turned bitter

does anyone else see the dire state of it all?

does anyone else care? Do they know?

something's gotta give...

someone's gotta forgive...

marriages and families just keep falling apart

we need some brave souls to step in and help
