A short little poem came to me when I was having a particularly hard day.
Things felt heavy and raw, my mind was occupied with feelings of grief and negative thoughts. I wasn’t accomplishing the things I needed to get done because even the smallest things felt difficult.
It is okay to take a breather, I thought to myself. It is okay to ‘pull over’ for a moment, take the time to feel it all, drawing in a deep breath before continuing forward.
Four-Way Flashers
A glance in the mirror
To see behind
A twitch of the leg
To decrease speed
A flick of the wrist
To pull to the side
An intake of air
To merely survive
