Forget You

Things I Forgot: Part 4

By Brenton FPublished 2 months ago Updated 2 months ago 1 min read

there are times

when i forget you

and it’s like

you were never there

not your face

not your smile

not that snuffle

when you slept

not your chin

not your eyes

not your shoulders

when you wept

there are times

when i wish i could forget you

and it’s like it’s still that yesterday

and you’re still gone

forget your laughter

forget your tears

every single one of those

candle lit whispered fears

forget the way

(whispered) you felt

forget the way

(whispered) you made me feel

forget the way you smelt

forget it like it wasn’t real

sad poetry

Ah that forgetting that lingers no matter what you do. Yet, should we forget or just lock it away for future reference. Nostalgia in every emotion. Well said.
