We're on the cusp of a major holiday that friends in the United States deservedly celebrate, so thoughts of independence came to mind.
For all of us, independence is freedom. It is the freedom to do as we please, to go where we wish to and to make our own choices.
That stays. But flying the flag of independence implies much more. It means power and, to quote Uncle Harry, great responsibility as well. It also connotes resilience and the need to make tough decisions when circumstances demand it.
The United States has indeed come through 248 years of independence with great resilience, strength and tenacity. Happy July 4th to all, and please enjoy this Tritina Poem.
Flag flies ever high
Graces mast with duty
Touches vast blue sky.
Flies in yonder sky
With no tear, up high
It embraces duty.
Flag scales the wide sky
With certitude, up high
It answers call of duty.
Flag touches vast blue sky, scales the mast up high, bravely fulfills duty.
