Everything's Gonna Be OK

We've got a good thing going.

I'm waiting on signs that you're nearby,

All the time wishing on shooting stars

And trying to crest that high tide

That will tell me you're home safe.

I dream in full color by nightfall,

casting shadow-bright and wonderful,

For those moments when I'm alone

And can't see the sun beyond the clouds.

I fall for your each and every tale,

Brilliant and true and mine,

Or so it feels at the time,

Till we meet again somewhere,

Perhaps in each other's stories.

I'm waiting on the hope of a lifetime

That you're just biding your time

And maybe then you'll see

That I was the one for you.

Someday sorrow, maybe,

But not today or this hour.

Everything's gonna be okay

Because I still own my heart,

No matter what you might believe.

Still, I hope that you know one thing:

I would have written the best words

For the picture perfect story of your life.
