Echoes in a Broken Room

Shattered Vase

By Rebecca Lynn IveyPublished 4 months ago 1 min read

A shattered vase, once whole and bright,

Now scattered shards, reflecting fading light.

My heart, once full of joy and song,

Now echoes hollow, where love once belonged.

Your touch, a spark that set me ablaze,

Now ashes linger, through lonely days.

Promises whispered, like windblown leaves,

Swirling and scattered, beyond reprieve.

Tears fall like rain on a wilted bloom,

Aching memories fill the empty room.

I gather the pieces, with trembling hand,

Hoping to mend, but the cracks still stand.

But time, a healer, with gentle grace,

May yet mend the wounds, in this broken space.

New blooms may rise, where the old ones fell,

And love may find me, with a stronger spell.
