A lass met a lad one fine day

Who sat crying, not joining in play.

"Why so sad?" said the lass.

The lad said, "Alas,

Loose-leashed Lassie left leaping away!"

Cheers to the Invisible Writer, a recent subscriber, who suggested a limerick featuring a lass and a lad. I challenge you to read the last line aloud ten times fast!

“If loose lips sink ships, what do loose leashes do?” clever analogy.

  • Really very well done. Clever with great rhymes and a smooth flow. Great job Heidi.

Haha. This is great. I couldn't say the last line twice without messing it up.

  • Not only a delightful limerick, but a bit of an alliterative tongue twister for that last line.
