Different Opinions

Who Cares?

Different Opinions

Loud and obnoxious some have said,

Words that we say right off of our head.

Some are helpful, but mostly not so much,

Or so some people say, those who are tough.

But isn’t it our duty many have asked,

To offer an opinion on a topic we’re tasked.

And having done so this admission that differs,

Leaving shredded relationships as if cut with scissors.

We’re often told that differences attract,

I’m not so sure, sometimes opposites attack.

Each throwing out brimstone and coals of fire,

At times cursing others making life dire.

Some say it all should be done in fun,

While in reality, the bantering makes cold blood run.

From sun up to sun down and hours in between,

Slandering and gossiping can be heard and seen.

So, what’s up with the humans who argue and lash out,

At those who don’t agree, those who make them pout?

There has to be a reckoning, a time for reproving,

For hurtful things said, even though there’s no redoing.

And for the final word, many would fight to the death,

Knowing full well that it doesn’t change nor bless.

For to see things differently, whether right or wrong,

Is being human in the first place we knew this all along.
